Our Services

We are aimed at the following but not limited to;
  • Advocacy: We always discuss with the stakeholders to enhance and sustain their commitments to environmental issues. We also, advocate for government commitments to both International and Local Legislations and regulations on Environment.
  • Education: We reach out to people at all levels to sensitive and enlighten them on the impacts of the environment on their health and economy. Our Radio and Television Programmes, our regular Publications, Seminars and Workshops, Conferences and numerous other enlightenment programme help to educate the people on the importance of a clean, safe and healthy environment.
  • Empowerment: We constantly build the capacity of the people to enable them tame their peculiar environment. We do organize Seminars and Workshops, Conferences and other useful fora aimed at enhancing the capability of the people to provide solutions to the Environmental challenges around them. Some places are challenged with flooding, some with erosion, some with desert encroachment and some with pollution. The empowerment can be in form of provision of equipment and facilities, provision of information, liaison with relevant stakeholders and so on.
  • Promotion of Environmental Initiative: We do sponsor, supports and encourage every initiative in consonant with our aims and objectives. We do offer award and confer honour on individuals and corporate bodies for an Environment – related meritorious service and achievements..
  • Rapid Response to the call of our People: Ours is a grassroot approach. We live with our people and share things in common with them. We are strategically located in every part of the country, states, LGAs, Communities and Neighbourhood to meet up with their needs within a few minutes.

Our Targets

We render services to all people with emphasis on the following places:

Schools:

Hospitals:

We reach out to hospitals both private and public owned, to encourage proper sanitation and waste management. Priority is given to the handling of medical wastes, and the general sanitation of the internal and external premises of the hospitals. Hospitals provide great avenue to discussing with Mothers and other family members on the issues of cleanliness, and hygiene.

Churches/Mosques:

We work in close relationship with the religions Institutions; who are the greatest trustees of the populace. They expedite our works of meeting with and enlightening the people. We also provide technical expertise and advice to the institutions on issues of environmental and public health importance of hygiene and environmental sanitation.

Market:

Most people spend a great deal (time) of their life daily at markets. So, market places are of utmost importance to us while discussing environmental sanitation and waste management. Moreover, considering the fact, that most of our foods are gotten from markets, a great need therefore, abounds that we should give adequate attention to the hygiene conditions of our markets. We work on the general outlook of the market, drainage system, water supply status, sanitary facilities, waste management etc.
We work with market managers, shop owners, and other stakeholders to ensure that our markets are clean, safe and healthy.

Companies:

We take the message of a clean, safe and healthy environment to the companies. We encourage the companies to embark on safe waste disposal method, to provide Personal Protective equipment for the staff. We encourage the workers to make proper use of the protective devices. We educate the workers on the benefits of the use of the protective gadgets. We also encourage corporate environmental responsibility from the companies to their host communities.

Communities:

We provide fora with communities where peculiar environmental issues are discussed and self- sustaining solutions are proffered. Together, we identify the environmental challenges in the community. Together we look for answers to the community’s environmental questions. Some communities suffer flooding, some suffer erosion, some suffer desert encroachment and some pollution etc. We facilitate all necessary partnership to solve the identified problems.

Media:

The media is our key partner in pursuit of a clean, safe and healthy environment. We work with both print and electronic media in information dissemination. This relationship enhances our scope of service delivery and brings us to the door post of every family including people on transit. So, we constantly, carry out advocacy visits to media organizations to solicit for greater media coverage of environmental issues ranging from policy making to implementation.

Government:

We carryout advocacy to all tiers of government at all levels; the executives, the legislators and the Judiciary at both the local government, state government and federal government. We also reach out to International agencies for supports and collaborations.

  • GEHI-BEST (Breakfast Environmental Sanitation Talk)

    GEHI presents Environmental Sanitation Talks to smaller units in the communities such as households, play groups, neighbours etc.
  • GEHI-LUTE (Lunch Time Engagement)

    GEHI engages CEO/others at lunch time and encourages cooperate environmental responsibilities.
  • GEHI-DEHP (Dinner Environmental Health Package)

    GEHI presents Environmental Health Talks to smaller units who are more available in the evening (one-on-one), shops.
  • GEHI-SSP (School Sanitation Project)

    GEHI presents Environmental Sanitation Talks to students/pupils in schools, organises seminars/workshops for teachers, conferences, identifies &rewards CLEANEST SCHOOLS.
  • GEHI-CSP (Community Sanitation Project)

    GEHI collaborate with communities to identify and proffer solutions to the community’s environmental sanitation needs.
  • GEHI-MSA (Market Sanitation Awareness)

    GEHI presents awareness campaigns at the markets.
  • GEHI-OPPS (Other Public Places Sanitation)

    GEHI environmental sanitation activities at other public places such as IDP camps, motor parks, recreation centres, etc.
  • GEHI-A&P (Advocacy and Partnership)

    GEHI’s advocacy and Partnership programmes such as courtesy/Advocacy visits to stakeholders.
  • GEHI-Our world

    GEHI interacts with the public, media, etc through publications.

Volunteer

Grassroot Environmental Healthcare Initiative (GEHI) is being promoted by men and women from every part of Nigeria who feel challenged by the level of Environmental degradation, with attendant health and economic implications which pose challenges to the country.
Membership is therefore open to all men and women of proven character and integrity and who are ready to contribute towards the amelioration of environmental problems in the society and who are unrelenting in efforts to improve the quality of our environment. Membership spread across public and private sectors. Professionals and non -professionals all have pivotal roles to play, in our multidimensional approach to contemporary environmental challenges. Membership offers some privileges and confers some responsibilities. Partnership

GEHI is readily available for effective and active collaboration and partnership with government, Non-governmental Organizations, International Agencies, Institutions, companies, communities, media, and individuals etc, to effect a sustainable clean, safe and healthy environment.
Individuals help to bring to our notice, cases of environment assault and nuisances, providing such adequate information on the scene and nature of the problem.
We notify the appropriate government agency on environmental issues that must be handled by the government.
We work with corporate bodies to effectively carryout their environmental responsibilities with their host communities. We ensure that the missions of international agencies; who are in partnership with us are attained especially as regards reaching out to the grassroot. Together, we shall achieve better. Your partnership can be in terms of voluntary service, part time services, donation of equipment and resources, sponsorship of our seminars/workshops, sponsorship of our publications, Radio programmes or infrastructures such as Toilet facilities, Water supply facilities, Waste management facilities etc.
